Basic insurance (KVG)

ÖKK BASIS, the mandatory insurance  according to the Health Insurance Law (KVG)

Every person residing or in gainful employment  in Switzerland requires mandatory basic insurance.

The mandatory basic insurance is called ÖKK BASIS with ÖKK. It covers the statutory requirement of basic benefits  in your canton of residence and at your place of work. The basic insurance complies with the Swiss Health Insurance Law (KVG). It provides benefits in the case of illness, accident and maternity. You are free to choose your doctor or a public hospital in your canton of residence.

Do you want to save premiums? If so, choose from one of our three insurance plans. In these plans, your first port of call is either your general practitioner, the health centre near you or the team of doctors from the telemedical centre Medgate.

Detailed information about the basic insurance can be found on the webpage of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). » www.bag.admin.ch
