Alternative insurance plans are variants of the basic insurance, which save premiums. The difference to the regular basic insurance is that the first port of call for health questions is always the general practitioner, the telemedical service or the HMO centre.
ÖKK CASAMED GENERAL PRACTITIONER
The first contact person is always your general practitioner, who you have selected from ÖKK's list of general practitioners. If your general practitioner is absent, contact their locum. If specialist treatment is required, your general practitioner will refer you immediately.
If you consult doctors, therapists, or hospitals without a referral from your general practitioner, you are responsible for the costs incurred yourself. Exceptions: emergencies and gynaecological, paediatric and optometric treatments.

ÖKK CASAMED 24 (telemedicine) - telephone 0848 227 224
Prior to arranging an appointment for treatment or if you have questions regarding your health, always call Medgate first. Medgate is the Swiss Centre for telemedicine. The specialist doctors advise you and decide how to proceed. If treatment is required, you will be immediately referred to a doctor or a specialist. The team of doctors can be reached around the clock seven days a week.

ÖKK CASAMED HMO
HMO stands for Health Maintenance Organization . Your HMO centre doctor is always your first contact person. If specialist treatment is required, the HMO centre will refer you immediately.
If you consult doctors, therapists, or hospitals without a referral from your HMO centre or your HMO doctor, you are responsible for the costs incurred yourself. Exceptions: emergencies and gynaecological, paediatric and optometric treatments.
