Choose from four modules and tailor your travel insurance in line with your personal needs. You can take out ÖKK TOURIST for yourself or your entire family. The insurance does not cover illnesses and consequences of accidents which are already known before embarking on the journey or whose treatment is foreseeable by the insured person.
Treatment costs
ÖKK TOURIST covers the costs of emergency treatment at a doctor's practice or hospital worldwide and also includes other helpful services.
- Emergency treatment in the event of illness, accident or premature birth.
- Emergency hotline and medical advice provided by the ÖKK emergency call centre – available around the clock, worldwide on +41 41 210 44 88
- Transport, search, rescue and recovery operations
- Additional return trip (also for family members)
- Trip for close persons for visiting purposes
- Payment advances to hospitals
- Help with finding hospitals and doctors and near to where you are staying
- Translation assistance via the ÖKK emergency call centre
ÖKK TOURIST only covers those costs that are not covered by basic insurance. The travel insurance thus only comes into play after basic insurance has paid out. Policyholders must therefore contribute towards the costs via their deductible and excess.

Travel legal protection
The insurance covers lawyer, expert and court costs incurred in relation to legal protection claims outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Our partner Coop Rechtsschutz AG supports you with legal claims.

Cancellation costs
The insurance covers the cancellation or additional costs for travel services booked worldwide if you cannot embark upon the trip, if you can only embark upon the trip with a delay or if you have to cancel the trip prematurely as a result of illness, accident or death. The insurance also covers part of additional costs if you have to extend your trip.

Luggage
The insurance covers the costs worldwide resulting from the theft, loss or damage to personal luggage. All items that you take on the journey for your own person necessity are insured. The insurance does not cover cash, tickets, souvenirs or gifts.

Interim accident insurance
You have terminated your employment contract with your current employer. If you do not start a new job at another employer, your accident insurance cover will end after 31 days. With interim accident insurance, you can extend your insurance for non-occupational accidents for up to 6 months.

Questions and answers (FAQ)
This insurance may be concluded by all persons, without any age restrictions, who have compulsory health care insurance under the Swiss Health Insurance Act (KVG) and their legal place of residence in Switzerland. In addition, ÖKK TOURIST may be concluded by people who have the relevant compulsory health care insurance in Liechtenstein and also have their legal place of residence there.
The person listed in the insurance policy is insured (policyholder), together with their spouse/life partner, their own children as well as the children of the partner provided they live in the same household.
No. ÖKK TOURIST is a travel insurance policy. The interim insurance policy provides the same benefits as standard non-occupational insurance in accordance with the UVG. You can take out interim insurance if you have given notice and are temporarily stopping working – for example in the event of unpaid leave. Click here for ÖKK’s interim insurance.
ÖKK TOURIST is valid all year round. By contrast, ÖKK TOURIST SUBITO can be taken out on a daily basis and therefore is only valid for a certain period of time. The benefits covered are identical.
