When is it worth taking out ÖKK SMILE?
ÖKK SMILE supplements your basic insurance when you want to enjoy reliable cover against high dental costs or make regular use of preventative services. Whether it’s tooth preservation, prophylaxis, dental and jaw misalignment or prosthetic treatments: with ÖKK SMILE, you determine the amount of your cost contribution yourself. You can choose between four modules ranging from CHF 1,000 to CHF 5,000. The insurance covers treatment in Switzerland and its neighbouring countries. Children are insured free of charge up to three years of age.
Please note that there is a waiting period of 6 to 12 months after conclusion of the contract for certain benefits. In addition, the insurance can only be taken out as an add-on to ÖKK START.
Questions and answers (FAQ)
Once you have your permanent teeth, there are fewer obvious changes that take place in your mouth. Topics like prophylaxis nevertheless remain important, and treatments like corrections, root canal treatment and dental prosthesis may be required. For that reason, adults should also have good cover.
A check is conducted for every supplementary dental insurance policy. Whether you can be accepted is decided on a case-by-case basis. Our recommendation: insure your unborn child before the birth (free of charge up to the age of three), as they are guaranteed to be accepted into the policy.
With ÖKK SMILE, you protect yourself against high dental costs in line with your needs. You choose one of four modules: ÖKK SMILE 1,000, ÖKK SMILE 1,500, ÖKK SMILE 3,000 and ÖKK SMILE 5,000. ÖKK’s contribution towards your dental costs varies depending on the module.
All modules also cover treatments carried out in neighbouring countries of Switzerland. The insurance is free of charge for children up to three years of age. After concluding the policy, there is a waiting period for dental treatments.
Two minutes, three times a day – that’s how little time it takes to look after your dental hygiene. Despite this, tooth decay and parodontitis are still among the most common diseases. In our podcast, dentist Dominik Oberholzer explains what matters and which effective preventative measures you can take.
