When is it worth taking out ÖKK HOSPITAL?

ÖKK HOSPITAL supplements your basic insurance in the areas where you would like to enjoy more comfort, freedom of choice and security. In the event of illness or accident, you decide which hospital and which medical specialists you would like to go to for treatment. Depending on your needs, you can choose between a general, semi-private or private ward, thereby benefiting from more peace and quiet and privacy during your stay. You are also insured in the event of emergencies abroad. ÖKK HOSPITAL will contribute towards your transport, rescue and recovery costs, giving you peace of mind when it matters.

Depending on the module you choose, ÖKK HOSPITAL covers certain benefits up to predetermined maximum amounts. In the case of maternity, there is a waiting period of 360 days from the start of the insurance.

Questions and answers (FAQ)

You can choose from six benefit levels: FLEX MINI, FLEX, SEMI-PRIVATE, PRIVATE, PRIVATE ACCIDENT and GLOBAL.
With FLEX MINI, for example, you decide whether you want to stay on a general or semi-private ward depending on the situation.
Our overview of benefits contains a list of the advantages of each benefit level, which you can compare with one another.
Go to the benefit overview for the benefit levels

In Switzerland, you have a free choice of doctor at all benefit levels provided that your insurance is at least semi-private. With ÖKK FLEX MINI, the free choice of doctor only applies if you opt for semi-private. With the FLEX module, it applies to semi-private or private treatment.

The term “free choice of doctor” means that you decide yourself which medical specialist you would like to be treated by in hospital. This applies to hospitals and private practitioners recognised by ÖKK. The list of hospitals and private practitioners with limited or no cost coverage can be found here.

Supplementary insurance policies are voluntary. Depending on your medical history, your application may be rejected or only accepted with restrictions. By choosing ÖKK OPTION now, you can guarantee your unconditional admission to a supplementary insurance policy in the future – including for all benefit levels of ÖKK HOSPITAL.
Further information on the product

With ÖKK HOSPITAL, you enjoy a free choice of doctor and hospital, during both hospital stays and rehabilitation. You can get treatment from specialised experts and will benefit from their experience. In addition, you will enjoy more peace and quiet and privacy, and will often be able to get appointments more quickly. This will help you to recover with peace of mind.

With ÖKK HOSPITAL SEMI-PRIVATE, you will be accommodated in a twin room and can choose to be treated by the chief medical specialist. With ÖKK HOSPITAL PRIVATE, you can stay on a private ward throughout Switzerland, enjoy maximum comfort and privacy, and be treated by the senior consultant if you wish.

With ÖKK HOSPITAL FLEX, you can wait until being admitted to hospital to decide whether you would like to be treated on a general, semi-private or private hospital ward. You contribute 15% (semi-private, max. CHF 1,500 per year) or 25% (private, max. CHF 4,500 per year) towards the costs.
With ÖKK HOSPITAL FLEX MINI, you choose whether to be treated on a general or a semi-private ward – also on admission to hospital – and your cost contribution is 35% (maximum of CHF 4,500 per year).

Private accident insurance supplements other social security coverage. It only pays the portion of the costs that is not already covered. If you have multiple insurance policies, the statutory orders of priority apply. This means that the subsidiary insurance policy only comes into play once there are no other policies that are obliged to cover the claim.

The insurance term lasts one year. The contract is automatically extended by one year if the insurance is not terminated by the applicable deadline.
